Osteopathy
There are few things more frustrating than being in pain, seeking out help and then not seeing results. Whether it’s treatments that don’t work, or treatments that help short term but the problem keeps coming back, dealing with chronic or recurring pain gets tiresome. If you’re ready to get to the root of what’s causing you grief, Osteopathy is here to help. |
What is Osteopathy?
Osteopathy is a hands on therapy that aims to help the body heal itself and return to its balance.
Osteopathy takes into consideration the whole body, all its moving parts and systems during assessment and treatment. Osteopathy believes structure and function are interrelated, and treatment aims to address structure to improve blood flow, lymphatics and function.
Osteopathic Manual Practitioners use their deep understanding of anatomy and physiology in concert with their highly attuned palpation skills to detect and treat restrictions and dis-ease in the body, aiming to treat the cause of symptoms rather than just temporarily reducing them.

Frequently Asked Questions About Osteopathy
What is the difference between Physiotherapists, Chiropractors & Osteopathic Manual Practitioners ?
A number of different practitioners use manual (hands on) therapy to address client concerns. Chiropractors, Osteopathic Manual Practitioners and Physiotherapists are a few prominent examples.
While there can be overlap in techniques, each discipline has it’s own approach and application of manual therapy.
Osteopathic treatment considers the body as a whole system and addresses concerns from this perspective. Osteopathic Manual Practitioners use gentle hands therapy to harness the body's ability to self heal and self regulate.
Whereas Physiotherapists and Chiropractors may include other modalities in their treatment, Osteopathic Manual Practitioners exclusively use manual therapy.
