Physiotherapy

Post Stroke Care

Physiotherapy focuses on restoring function following stroke. Having a stroke or traumatic brain injury can be a life altering event. Approximately 50,000 Canadians have a stroke each year; 75% of those surviving are left with some level of disability. Physiotherapy has a positive impact in the prevention of subsequent acute events and supports the individual’s ability to live independently through targeted interventions aimed at improving balance, strength, coordination and function. Physiotherapy can assist in learning to dress, walk and return to independent living.
